Description
As a catalyst for oxidation/reduction reactionsRhenium(VII) oxide acts as a precursor to methylrhenium trioxide, organorhenium oxides which catalyze olefin oxidation, metathesis and other transformations. It is used as a reagent for dehydrations and rearrangements of allylic alcohols, oximes and amides, oxidative cyclizations, alkene metathesis and formation of bisperoxyacetals.
