Description
Potassium dichromate is a common inorganic chemical reagent, most commonly used as an oxidizing agent and in ethanol determination. It is milder than potassium permanganate, and is often used to oxidize alcohols, converting them to aldehydes and carboxylic acids. It is non-hygroscopic and so is a common reagent for use in classical “wet tests” in analytical chemistry.
