For Use As An Analytical Reagent For the Preparation of Nessler'S Reagent.

As an analytical reagent for the preparation of Nessler's Reagent. It is also used as an oxidizing agent for the synthesis of quinoxaline. Polycrystalline films of mercury (II) iodide, also play an important role in X-ray imaging.
