Description
GC Residue Analysis Grade solvents are used to prepare specimens for pesticide analysis. The sample is evaporated, the residue is re-dissolved in the solvent and the solution is analyzed using gas chromatography. Evaporation concentrates both the residue and any impurities in the solvent itself, so this type of analysis requires extraordinarily pure solvents.
- Controls performed by GC-ECD to ensure the absence of peaks of over 3 ppt (expressed as lindane), from low, medium and high boiling points (from 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene to decachlorobiphenyl), and also in the area around that of 2,4,5-trichlorobiphenyl.
- These controls ensure that the quality of GC Residue Analysis solvents is suitable for organochlorinated, dioxin, furan and PCB pesticide residue analysis.
- In pesticide residue analaysis, anhydrous sodium sulfate is normally used as a drying agent once the extraction process is performed, after separating the aqueous and organic phases.
